At first glance if we look at the title of this film, maybe people will judge if the film is merely ordinary skit. But in fact, the film directed by the newly named Anggy Umbara, filled with a moral message that is close to our daily environment. It was illustrated by lifestyle Rakha, Willy and Rio, who unknowingly had undergone western thought pattern and erode the Indonesian culture of religious values and eastern culture.
From the side of the player, the three main characters in this film are Ananda Omesh, Boy William and Arie Dagienkz, looks very compact so managed to make the story of this film come alive. This was evidenced through several shoot one scene in which they live very well, especially Rakha character played by Ananda Omesh. Their role here is very qualified and is not covered by the aura of the senior film stars who were involved in Mama Cake like Didi Petet and Nani Wijaya.
Although classified as a comedy drama, the content of "Mama Cake" story as very serious and even leaning toward the religious. Here the audience will return to be reminded about Eastern cultures typical of Indonesia and our duty as religious communities without patronizing impression through symbols inserted by the director. Two things are unwittingly often abandoned as modern human thought patterns at this time.
Overall, the film Mama Cake is worth watching because it was able to describe the reality of our society today. After watching this film, viewers will be able to enrich themselves in terms of visual and moral message contained therein.
